General
Q: What is Plan Go Wander?
Plan Go Wander is a travel coaching service based centrally between Richmond and Washington D.C. Metro Areas that helps anxious travelers, first-time flyers, teens, seniors, and anyone who feels overwhelmed by air travel gain the confidence and skills to fly independently.
Q: Where do you operate?
We currently serve the Richmond and Washington D.C. / Northern Virginia metro area, including Richmond International (RIC), Reagan National (DCA) and Dulles International (IAD). Senior Traveler Support is available for U.S. domestic travel only. Contact us if you're unsure whether we can serve your location.
Q: Do I have to actually fly to use your services?
Not at all! Our Airport Dry-Run and Teen Safety & Independence Training involve no flying — they're practice sessions inside the airport to help you get familiar with the environment before your real trip.
Booking and Getting Started
Q: How do I get started?
The best first step is booking our free 15-minute consultation. We'll talk through your travel goals, concerns, and upcoming plans, and recommend the right service for you — no pressure, no commitment.
Q: How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 2–4 weeks before your travel date, especially for full trip coaching or airport dry-runs. That gives us enough time to plan and prepare together. Contact us if your trip is coming up sooner — we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Q: Can I book a service as a gift for someone else?
Absolutely. Many clients are parents booking for teens or adult children booking for elderly parents. Just let us know during the consultation so we can tailor the approach to the traveler.
Services
Q: What is an Airport Dry-Run and what does it involve?
An Airport Dry-Run is a guided practice visit to the airport — no flight required. We walk through everything together: check-in, bag drop, TSA security, finding your gate, and boarding zones. It's designed to make the airport feel familiar and manageable before your actual travel day.
Q: What's the difference between the Airport Dry-Run and Full Trip Coaching?
The Airport Dry-Run is a practice session with no flying involved, ideal for building familiarity and reducing anxiety before a trip. Full Trip Coaching is a premium, end-to-end service where a coach accompanies you on both your outbound and return flights, providing real-time support the entire journey.
Q: Do you fly with the traveler during Full Trip Coaching?
Yes. Full Trip Coaching is a flight companion service — your coach travels with you from departure to destination and accompanies you on the return trip as well.
Q: Is the Teen Safety & Independence Training just for teenagers?
It's designed primarily for teens, college students, and young adults flying alone, but the skills taught — airport navigation, safety awareness, independence — are valuable for anyone new to solo travel.

Practical Questions
Q: What if my flight is delayed or something unexpected happens on travel day?
Handling the unexpected is part of what we prepare you for. During coaching sessions, we cover exactly what to do if your flight is delayed, your gate changes, or something doesn't go as planned — so you feel equipped rather than panicked.
Q: Is this service right for someone with a diagnosed anxiety disorder or disability?
We are not medical or mental health professionals, but our coaching is designed to be calm, patient, and fully adaptable to individual needs. We work comfortably alongside travelers managing anxiety, sensory sensitivities, mobility challenges, and more. If you have specific needs, let us know during your free consultation so we can plan accordingly.
Partners
Q: Do you have a partner network?
We are just getting started but would love to partner with organizations that support our approach and align with our mission - therapists treating travel anxiety, special needs schools sending students on trips, elder care coordinators, university study-abroad offices and corporate training.
